Measurements of the L subshell ratios of pure E2 transitions in rare-earth nuclei have been made recently. The result prompted an investigation of the first excited state to ground state pure E2 transitions in GdYband W In the investigation, the measurements were carried out on an iron-free double-focusing spectrometer.
In order to be able to assign a unique value to the spin of a state it is usually necessary to carry out angular correlation measurements.
The most general case is the reaction in which a secondary particle is emitted, leaving the product nucleus in a state that decays with the emission of two γ-rays in using a single NaI spectrometer the angular distribution of either of the γ.

Frequently these data are combined with data obtained in measurements of γ-ray spectra after neutron capture, in β-decay study, etc. The intensity of a transition is^ commonly expressed in terms of the oscillator strength which is defined as f f = x 10~ 9 J ^ y d>J, i.e. constant X area In the case of a Gaussian curve this can be approximated as f = x t max iA/ 2 where v-t/o LS Jcile width of the band where & is = l/2 z max In theory f = x yav jZnlj^i.

For example, an isomer of 99Te is 99mTe where the m denotes the longest-lived excited state (i.e., a state in which the nucleons in the nucleus are not in the lowest energy state) Relative Atomic MassesThe relative atomic mass A of any particular isotope, a dimensionless physicalquantity, is the ratio of the mass of one atom of the.
